Businesses exist to provide value for customers and without the value, there's no business. Putting people first is a business imperative.

I do just that.
I am Tom Smith, a creative leader.

Design philosophy

My approach to answering customer problems is simple.

Design is unique and ever-changing, much like our customer's lives. It is my duty as a creative problem-solver to not assume I know the customer but to look deeper to create products and services people want to use.

I enjoy reducing business uncertainty by solving real problems.

Happy clients

From digital experience overhauls, rebrands, product launch campaigns, educational programs and more. I have driven lasting results across a diverse range of sectors including Fintech, Retail, Sport, FMCG, Public/Private sector, Culture and Education.

Each time increasing business KPI’s and ROI across B2C and B2B audiences.

Giving back

Whenever possible, I enjoy giving back to the design community and sharing detail from the lessons I’ve learned to help others grow and succeed.

Below are two articles focussing on areas that can provide a business advantage.

The value of accessibility in design

Design accessibility has serious power. When embraced and go beyond basic guidelines and legislation the results can be dramatic. More innovation, improved customer empathy and better experiences for all.

Design systems and business value

The power of a design system can help achieve business growth through increased time and budget efficiency, customer experience consistency and unite design teams behind a shared knowledge base.

Improve collaboration across design teams

Sharing ideas, improving concepts, elevating solutions. Call it what you will. Collaboration is key to delivering robust, lasting solutions to customer problems whilst lowering the barrier of entry to design.
